Lotus Flower Trio
The lotus flower is the beauty born of the marsh, an allegory of a troubled world. Bruno Angelini's new repertoire pays homage to the lotuses of our history, Wayne Shorter, Jane Addams, Berta Cacerès and Nelson Mandela, each of whom in their own way worked for the common good. At the heart of his compositions are committed melodies that the pianist and saxophonists Sakina Abdou and Angelika Niescier interpret with raw lyricism and a great deal of freedom.

LA MAIN
Guitarist Gilles Coronado's project was born around a singular trio, in which he joins forces with trumpeter Olivier Laisney and drummer Christophe Lavergne to create an unusual sound, imbued with both a certain lightness and the strength of a power rock trio. For this Berlin concert, the Frenchman invited Sarah Murcia and Catherine Delaunay, and in this variable-geometry group, each performer can immerse himself in the different lines of the piece, as none is specifically dedicated to him. In this way, they can turn the music on its head, diverting it from its initial reality, so that the simplicity of the first listen coexists with a hidden complexity.

LET THEM COOK
2004, an improvised jam, four musicians with a furious desire to break the rules and peel away the labels: a quartet was born. Since then, the magic has continued to work, as these four have constantly questioned and renewed themselves, always telling unusual stories. By integrating electronics into the programme celebrating their twenty years of existence, saxophonist Emile Parisien, pianist Julien Touéry, drummer Julien Loutelier and double bassist Ivan Gélugne show just how much they love exploring the unknown and creating surprises.
