MUSIQUES EN CHANTIER
NOBABAN + WAYNE SHORTER PROJECT
Every year, Jazzdor opens one of its stages to young students freshly graduated from the Strasbourg Conservatory. For this edition, Musiques en Chantier welcomes the Nobaban trio and the Wayne Shorter Project sextet.
The Nobaban trio, in a bassless setting, offers an introduction to modern and electronic sounds, through personal compositions which create their sound universe, largely devoted to space and groove, in a constant search for accuracy and beauty of sound.
For more than a year, the Wayne Shorter Project sextet, under the direction of Jean-Daniel Hégé at the Strasbourg Conservatory, has immersed itself in the music of the American saxophonist, exploring and appropriating his repertoire by mixing its musical influences.
