Î D’ILES
MUSIQUE ET PEINTURE
Î D’ILES
Î d'iles is an immersive, interdisciplinary show, the fruit of a collaboration between saxophonist and artistic director of the Pulcinella company Ferdinand Doumerc and painter and comic book author Audrey Spiry. Presented as a maritime tale exploring a group of extraordinary islands through music, and offering a broader, more intimate reflection on the ambivalent notions of autonomy and isolation associated with insularity. Set to an elaborate visual score projected in real time, the narrative, carried by a child's voice and put into music by a small group with an elegant instrumentation combining electric harp, guitar, saxophone, flute and metallophone, poetically develops an enchanted universe on the borders of improvised chamber music, imaginary folklore and sound theatre.
