Raising audience awareness
Although a concert may be the main point of convergence place between artists and audiences, there are other spaces for us to imagine. This means that everyone, even people far away from artistic practice and culture, can experience first-hand what art in motion and music in the making really are.
Jazzdor aims to forge a special relationship with audience groups, by engaging in in-depth work on the three aspects of artistic education (the relationship with works and creation, practice, and culture and the history of aesthetics).
Jazzdor organises projects with schools and universities, music academies, the Strasbourg Conservatoire and social-sector organisations, involving concerts, meetings with artists and shared practices.
Jazzdor is a strong advocate of the idea that music, especially jazz music, is a means of self-discovery; a means of meeting other people; and a means of building a society that is in touch with the individual’s desire for emancipation.
