Among the countless groups covering the whole spectrum of jazz and contemporary improvised music with which Argentine-born Danish guitarist Mark Solborg is associated, the Tungemål project he has been developing and enriching with subtle orchestral variations since the turn of the 2020s undeniably appears as the conceptual avant-garde of his work as a composer and improviser. In the company of pianist and keyboardist Simon Toldam, he presents a new trio version. Through sublime melodies pulsating with strange grooves, Solborg unfurls the sonic enchantment of a universe of precious textures and colors, opening up space for a chamber-inspired music of unstable equilibrium, at once lyrical, sensual and abstract.
