KOGOBA BASIGUI
Kogoba Basigui is the result of a beautiful collaboration between the composer and pianist Eve Risser, with her Red DesertOrchestra, and the Malian griot percussionist Naïny Diabaté and her ensemble Kaladjula Band. The project mixes compositions with influences from the two countries of their creators, and a dialogue between the two orchestras is created, crossing the energy of Mandingo music with the sounds of contemporary jazz. Eve Risser has been leading a residency in the Bruche Valley since 2021, under the auspices of Jazzdor. The project presented here follows on from this residency, with over a hundred amateur choristers, children from local schools and adults, mobilized throughout the autumn to create this unique and unprecedented evening, highlighting Kogoba Basigui's fantastic energy for sharing.
