Musiques en Chantier is a unique opportunity offered each year to students who have just graduated from the Strasbourg Conservatory to perform within the festival. Until now, only already formed groups of students had been invited. For this new edition, the Jazz and Improvised Music Department is has been offering its students, from the very start of the academic year, two workshops led by double bassist Jean-Daniel Hégé and pianist Paul Staïcu. For two months, young musicians in their process of professionalization will confront the historical and educational repertoire of both Hard Bop and other recent compositions, with more current arrangements. The result of their work and motivation will be at the core of the unique concert scheduled at the ‘Espace Apollonia’.
