FABRICE MOREAU 4ET
A drummer of ellipses and innuendo, Fabrice Moreau has made the choreographic grace of his instrumental talents the very foundation of his composing, one of the most distinctive in contemporary jazz. For the past 7 years, he has been involved in an intense collaboration, as much human as artistic, with Ricardo Izquierdo on tenor saxophone, Nelson Veras on guitar, Jozef Dumoulin on piano and Mátyás Szandai on double bass. Following the tragic and premature death of the latter, Fabrice Moreau decided not to replace him in the band and to pursue the adventure as a quartet. Building around this vacant seat, Moreau and his companions create a music full of space and silence, making the dynamics of emptiness the real dramatic driving force behind a collective discourse that is paradoxically intensely lyrical.
