The Association à la Recherche d'un Folklore Imaginaire (ARFI) has been creating film-concerts since 1978, taking on the colors of the artists behind each project. For Tela Sonora, the association of electronic music composer and improviser Xavier Garcia, and percussionist and field recording enthusiast Jérôme Lopez gives six Brazilian animated shorts a rich soundtrack, nourished by aesthetics that are a priori far apart. Electronic and contemporary music, indigenous chants and field recordings made during the artists' tours of Brazil follow one another to accompany us through the streets of São Paulo or into the heart of the Amazon rainforest, to meet the beings and animals that live there.
