Jazzdor has supported Samuel Blaser's work for over a decade, from the creation of his duo with Marc Ducret to his trio with Peter Bruun.
In this double album, we find almost the same formats, as if mirrored by Russ Lossing, another of Blaser's accomplices for over ten years. These records, first as a duo and then as a trio with one of today's drumming veterans Billy Mintz, tell the story of a unique complicity.
The compositions of the two musicians involved in this recorded encounter unfold their cliché-free art in a happily uneven flow of original discourse.
The sound is full and free of frills. The band's powerful lyricism carries everything in its path away from conventional codes, yet everything flows from the source, their source, which lets its song develop without constraint.
Listening to them, it's impossible to stay on the sidelines. The small team takes us on board immediately, and together we dream of hoped-for territories, of spaces shared in total tranquility.
