Spotted in the quartet of saxophonist James Brandon Lewis, whose energies and moods he regulates with the most refined rhythmic and harmonic science, Cuban pianist Aruan Ortiz is one of the great revelations of contemporary jazz. An eminently choreographic drummer, both physical and cerebral in the same gesture, Ramon Lopez has established himself over the last twenty years as one of the most atypical and talented figures in the international world of improvised music. Embracing jazz, classical tradition and Latin music, their totally spontaneous dialogue crosses all the memories, cultures and styles of these two great improvisers with glee and a real sense of play.
