Histoires à s'asseoir debout is a journey through a glowing fresco, a stained-glass window made in situ, a living comic strip. For their very first creation, the Chien Assis collective has brought together two visual artists and two musicians to play with visual and sound manipulations, inviting the audience to discover their stories from multiple points of view. Each ‘tableau’ conjures up a unique universe, and a series of animated images and sounds unfurl in a perpetual state of improvisation, created live in front of our eyes and into our ears. Performed by both acoustic instruments and electronic machines, the score to these stories is not written down; only meeting points with the projections punctuate the stories, making each performance a unique experience.
