The Coordinator of the Strasbourg’s Conservatoire's jazz and improvised music department, Michael Alizon is above all a talented and erudite saxophonist making his own all the aesthetics of contemporary jazz, even sometimes far beyond its natural boundaries.

He is also one of the most outstanding figures of the rich Alsatian jazz scene who first came to prominence as a member of the straSax band, and since then has been the leader of a considerable number of highly diverse groups. Here, in the company of pianist Jean-René Mourot, he reveals the most intimate side of his universe. In a totally acoustic setting, the two musicians bring their acute sense of interplay to converse on a sensitive and expressive music that is deeply rooted in jazz.
