COURS, LOLA, COURS
In 1998, German director Tom Tykwer caused quite a sensation when he presented Cours, Lola, Cours, a youthful and over-energized movie, putting at the service of a playful scenario a whole set of virtuoso style effects and an editing approach directly connected to the stroboscopic pulsations of a technoid soundtrack, thus punctuating the mad race of Lola in the electro Berlin of the time. Jean-Marc Foltz and his son Eliot invite us today to a radically new interpretation of this kaleidoscopic visual and musical score.
Integrating the lyrical sinuosity of the clarinet into a sophisticated sound environment inspired by the most contemporary electronic music, both musicians (re-) immerse us differently in the flow of images, unfolding the film's timeless romantic poetry in an atmospheric music of great dramaturgical subtlety.
