L’ORIOLE
STÉPHANE CLOR, CLARA LÉVY
A leading artist on the Alsatian experimental scene, Stéphane Clor likes nothing more than to blur established frameworks and codes to explore – on the borders of improvised music, the contemporary field and visual arts – a poetic universe as singular as it is protean. Going from conceptual sound installations to multiple individual and collective projects more akin to performance art, he continues with L'Oriole, an association with the violinist Clara Lévy which began a few years ago with the Hyperborée augmented quartet. Using resonance and distortion devices to project the acoustic sounds of the violin and cello into fascinating metamorphoses of textures, colours and intensity, the two artists create soundscapes of great plastic beauty.
