JOACHIM KÜHN FRENCH TRIO
Due to a health problem, Joachim Kühn was unfortunately forced to cancel his trio's concert.
The concert on 14 November at the Reithalle with the Offenburg Kulturbüro as part of Jazzpassage will therefore not take place and will not be replaced.
An eternal adventurer of the living music, Joachim Kühn has always made of the trio a small laboratory for his powerfully syncretic music. To celebrate his 80th birthday, this authentic legend of European jazz has chosen to put himself on the line once again, leading an original line-up comprising two of the most creative musicians on the young French scene – double bassist Thibault Cellier (notably noticed within the Compagnie des Musiques à Ouïr and the Novembre band) and drummer Sylvain Darrifourcq (a key partner of Emile Parisien, Roberto Negro and Valentin Ceccaldi). Spurred on by the audacity of a rhythm section that is both organic and skilfully ‘deconstructivist’, Joachim Kühn, resolutely opening his musical world to otherness, intends once again to revitalise the flamboyant lyricism of his inimitable style.
