Drawing material for their repertoire from Renaissance music and Latin and Spanish dance, clarinettist Elodie Pasquier and accordionist Didier Ithursarry appropriate certain specificities from these sources of inspiration to perceive reminiscences of the harmonic, polyphonic and stylistic formulas of this period, and to blend them with their own games as improvisers and creators. The sound of wind instruments opens up a highly inspiring playground, in which the duo explores space-time, monody, improvisations, polyphony and silence, in a patient and delicate blend of two worlds, playing on the interdependence of writing and improvisation.
