After ten years spent in New York collaborating with the leading adventurers on the cosmopolitan local alternative scene, Franco-German double bassist Pascal Niggenkemper seems more determined than ever to experiment with his own idiomatic territories at the crossroads of improvised music, post-free jazz, electro-acoustic and contemporary music. Proof is given in the form of this unclassifiable new project, a kind of real-time dialogue between a traditional acoustic jazz trio and the virtual avatars made up of mirrored augmented versions of each of the instruments through a set of amplified 'sound curtains' that engage the collective expression into subtle anamorphoses. This is music that is both conceptual and ultra-sensory, blurring perceptions to better activate neurons.
