LAURE FISCHER, GASPARD BECK
Saxophonist Laure Fischer is involved on all fronts of (free) jazz and improvised music – she shares her current activities between a quite risky quartet with an explosive orchestration (saxophone/trombone/trumpet/drums) and an exclusively female trio with Yuko Oshima on drums and Jeanne Barbieri on vocals. She also forms an entirely improvised duet with Alsatian drummer Gaspard Beck, in which the radicalism of her poetics is expressed in a quintessential way. Engaging in unpredictable dialogues without safeguards, all in instantaneous interactions of great lyrical power, they invent an organic and eventful music, passing from long sequences with abstract moods and sound textures to irresistible instants of groove.

LAURE FISCHER SOLO
From Mulhouse, Laure Fischer is not yet thirty years old but is already asserting herself as one of the safe bets among the young creative music scene in Alsace. Familiar with the spicy recipes of improvised music at a very young age, she never stopped broadening her horizons by multiplying encounters on the borders of Afro-beat and free jazz, even risking herself in cross-disciplinary projects involving dance or musical circus. It is her love and perfect mastery of the saxophone that she puts into play and stages for this remarkable solo show. Adding effects pedals, a bamboo flute and a set of dreamlike bells to her panoply of instruments, she takes us on an introspective journey, wandering, surprising and deliberately paroxysmal moods, thus drawing the contours of a truly original universe.
