JAZZPASSAGE
HORST HANSEN TRIO
To describe its fusional, energetic, ultra-melodic music, as well as immediately accessible by its playful and uninhibited way of seizing everything that carries "zeitgeist" to appropriate it, the Horst Hansen Trio readily speaks of "Überjazz" – a term that could be translated as “augmented jazz” by borrowing a post-modern vocabulary and imaginarium. Actually, resolutely open to new forms, pulsations and sounds, brought to the world ears in recent years by hip hop, pop, psychedelic rock or electronic music, the hybrid and sophisticated jazz of this quintet of young musicians from Köln, irreverently shakes up old traditional patterns of the genre to place itself authentically and generously at the core of the major aesthetic challenges of our globalized reality.

LOUISE
A major saxophonist on the European jazz scene, Emile Parisien explores new horizons for his music by presenting a high-flying transatlantic All-Stars Band which offers an ultra-contemporary hybrid jazz, particularly highlighting his art of leadership and composition. In combining – in virtuoso and refined arrangements – his faithful acolytes Roberto Negro (piano) and Manu Codja (guitar) with American musicians from very varied cultures – Joe Martin (double bass), Nasheet Waits (drums) and the unpredictable and very hype Theo Croker on trumpet – the saxophonist returns to his fundamentals (swing, energy) to achieve an ideal synthesis between American and European sensibilities and heritage in music, as lyrical as it is generous.
